Why We Wear Black

Last night, millions of viewers, all across the nation tuned in to watch the 75th Annual Golden Globes. Each year, the highly anticipated ceremony is held to recognize excellence in the film and television industry. Hollywood's elite walk the event's red carpet dressed in the extravagant designer gowns and show stopping couture ensembles. However, last night's red carpet lacked the usual flamboyant rainbows of color and imposing silhouettes, as many celebs in the film industry banded together and opted for a more somber style. In response to recent allegations of sexual harassment in Hollywood and beyond, stars stood in solidarity against the epidemic, wearing all black attire. The movement was orchestrated by Times Up, an organization dedicated to fighting sexual harassment, assault, and inequality in the workplace. Together, these phenomenal women proved that a new dawn is on the horizon.
