First Appearance

When you utter the words “public speaking” people run for the hills. Public speaking has a fear about it that one has and I think it has to do with the fact that your in front of a bunch of people that are focused on you and only you. I think it can scare some people. Yesterday I spoke in front of the faculty of Sandia Prep. Some of them have known me since before I have been attending Prep. Then rest I have met along the way. But I think when you are in front of a group of people that know you helps because you are mostly comfortable with them, and they want to see you succeed. But when I stood in front of the faculty I was calm, cool and, collected. And I told them what I will be doing for the next two years. And I think my speech went well. I did not feel nervous or anxious, I think that was partly due to the fact that I am used to talking to a group of people day to day. I got this confidence through speaking to people through the Civil Air Patrol and that prior experience gave me confidence to stand up in front of all the faculty and tell them what I am doing. And I will be doing more public speaking in my coming two years. And I can’t wait to show other people what I am doing.
